Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and a prominent Bitcoin advocate, has made a daring prediction regarding the future of BTC.
According to Dorsey, the world’s largest cryptocurrency is poised to revolutionize the global financial landscape, and this transformation could occur within the next few years.
Dorsey shared his insights at a special gathering held at a castle in Tuscany, Italy, to mark the summer solstice. Addressing the esteemed audience, he expressed his belief that Bitcoin will evolve from being a store of value to becoming a dominant, permissionless currency that individuals will prefer to use on a daily basis in the Western world.
During his candid talk titled “Technology and Freedom,” Dorsey stated, “This process will take some time. It may not happen in 10 years; it could take 15 years. People are gradually recognizing the value of this system and why it is so powerful.”

Furthermore, Dorsey suggested that Bitcoin, as an on-chain currency, has the potential to surpass the US dollar and become the preferred global payment method. He believes that Bitcoin will gradually replace traditional means of transaction processing worldwide, not just in developing regions.
Dorsey remarked, “Bitcoin could potentially complement or even replace the US dollar, which currently dominates everything,” while sporting a Satoshi Nakamoto T-shirt.
As the founder of financial technology firm Block, Dorsey emphasized the importance of shifting the global economy away from its reliance on the US dollar and the Chinese yuan. He argued that these two entities control the value of money and that individuals have no say in the matter. In contrast, Bitcoin offers greater control and financial autonomy, according to Dorsey.
