List of Altcoin Networks Generating the Most Revenue Revealed: Ethereum Takes the Lead
A recent report by Lookonchain has unveiled the altcoin networks that generate the highest fee revenue. Ethereum has emerged as the top blockchain network, raking in an astounding $2.72 billion in revenue last year. This puts Ethereum ahead of Bitcoin, which secured second place with $1.30 billion in fee income. Tron Network followed closely in third place with $459.39 million.
Other notable networks on the list include Solana, generating $241.29 million, BSC with $176.56 million, Avalanche with $68.83 million, zkSync Era with $59.77 million, Optimism with $40.4 million, and Polygon with $23.91 million.
The Ethereum ecosystem is currently witnessing substantial growth, with Layer-2 activity reaching unprecedented levels. Layer-2 solutions, designed to enhance Ethereum’s scalability, are experiencing a surge in usage. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently expressed his admiration for the rapid growth of Ethereum L2 solutions, such as Optimism and Base.
In other news, the Ethereum network reported its lowest average fees since 2016 this year.
