Ripple Makes Major Announcement: XRP Ledger to Launch Tokenized US Treasury Bills
In an exciting development for the XRP community, Ripple has announced a new partnership and investment. OpenEden, a tokenization platform, will be launching tokenized US Treasury bills (TBILL) on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
As part of the partnership, XRP Ledger has invested $10 million in OpenEden’s TBILL tokens, which are backed by the US Treasury Department. This investment is part of a larger fund aimed at driving utility and new opportunities on decentralized platforms.
This collaboration will allow users to mint TBILL tokens using stablecoins, including the upcoming Ripple USD. By tokenizing US Treasury bills, OpenEden and XRP Ledger are demonstrating the potential of real-world assets in the decentralized space.
To ensure security and compliance, all issuers of TBILL tokens under this partnership will adhere to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
