While hacking incidents continue to increase in 2025
the biggest hacking incident that left its mark on this quarter was undoubtedly the hacking of the leading cryptocurrency exchange Bybit.
Following this hacking incident, Korean hackers emerged and Google warned investors in its latest report.
Google Cloud warned in a recent report that North Korean hackers are targeting blockchain projects and increasing illegal cyber activity across Europe.
Google stated in its report that hackers mostly targeted Solana (SOL)-based projects.
North Korean hackers have been reported to be posing as legitimate remote workers to infiltrate companies, take over critical systems and steal sensitive data for the purpose of generating revenue.
The report highlighted the use of fake identities and advanced coding skills in their operations, including developing blockchain and artificial intelligence applications.
At that point, it was discovered that one of these employees was working under 12 false identities in the U.S. and Europe, fabricating references, establishing relationships with employers, and seeking employment using additional identities that he had checked to ensure his credibility.
