Turkish Minister of Finance Delays Implementation of Stock Exchange Tax Law
The Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey, Mehmet Şimşek, has announced that the implementation of the stock market taxation law has been postponed. In a statement, Minister Şimşek revealed that the draft tax regulations aimed at enhancing efficiency and fairness in taxes, as well as reducing informal practices, will be presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly at a later date.
Minister Şimşek explained, “After considering feedback from various stakeholders, we have decided to delay the implementation of the draft tax regulations for the stock exchange to reassess the situation.”
Last week, there were reports that the Ministry of Treasury and Finance was working on implementing taxes on financial activities, including stock market investments and profits from cryptocurrency assets.
