The truth about the altcoin allegedly connected to Donald Trump has come to light, as sources close to Trump have spoken out about the rumors.
DJT, a memecoin with a Trump theme, caused a stir in the cryptocurrency world amid speculation that it had received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. This speculation was fueled by a report from tech publication Pirate Wires claiming that the token had been launched with Trump’s approval. However, the lack of comment from Trump campaign officials has cast doubt on the legitimacy of these claims.
An insider with direct knowledge of the Trump campaign’s decisions has stated that the campaign was not involved in the DJT project. The first to promote the DJT token as an “official Trump token” was Martin Shkreli, a former pharmaceutical company executive with a controversial past. Shkreli went on to claim on X Spaces, hosted by influencer Mario Nawfal, that he had created the DJT token in collaboration with Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump. According to Shkreli, Barron holds the majority of the tokens and is the sole owner of the project.
According to CoinGecko data, DJT is currently trading at around $0.01 with a market cap of $103 million. It is important to note that this is not investment advice.
