Asia’s well-known investment giant, Metaplanet Inc., has made a significant purchase of Bitcoin, adding to its already impressive reserve assets. The company recently announced that it has acquired an additional 23,351 Bitcoin (BTC) valued at around $1.59 million.
This latest purchase has boosted Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings to 141.07 Bitcoins, with a total worth of $9.6 million. The average purchase price for this acquisition was $65,365 (JPY10,278,391), solidifying the company’s position in the cryptocurrency market.
As Bitcoin faces fluctuations ahead of the Federal Reserve interest rate decision and CPI data release, Metaplanet’s bold move into the cryptocurrency sector is seen as a strategic decision to capitalize on potential price declines. Currently, Bitcoin is trading at $67,570.
