Spot Ethereum ETFs have seen a new development following the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the USA. Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas shared the news and also cited Bitcoin as an example, announcing the expected final approval date.
The S-1 approvals for spot Ethereum ETFs are still pending, preventing them from starting trading. However, it is anticipated that this approval will come in early July.
Balchunas highlighted that VanEck, the company whose spot Ethereum ETF application was approved, filed Form 8-A for the spot Ethereum ETF as part of the process. Comparing this to the approval process for Bitcoin ETFs, he pointed out that the Form 8-A was submitted just 7 days before the BTC ETF launch.
Based on this comparison, Balchunas expects that spot Ethereum ETFs will launch on July 2. He emphasized that while this is a positive sign, anything can happen, and more information will be forthcoming soon.
