Title: The Open Network (TON) Poised to Surpass Ethereum in User Count within Two Months
A surprising altcoin, The Open Network (TON), is projected to surpass Ethereum in terms of user numbers by the end of this year, according to a report by cryptocurrency analytics firm CryptoQuant.
Based on current trends, TON is expected to overtake ETH around December 20, driven by its rapidly growing user base. Ethereum currently has approximately 137 million users, while TON has already amassed an impressive 112 million users. TON has been attracting an average of 500,000 new users daily over the past month, and if this rate continues, it could surpass Ethereum in total holders within the next two months.
However, CryptoQuant analysts have identified two key factors that could potentially impact this forecast. Firstly, there is a possibility of a slowdown in TON’s growth. While TON has experienced significant growth recently, if the growth rate slows down, it could postpone the transition date to February 3, 2025, as estimated with a lower growth rate calculated with minus one standard deviation.
Secondly, despite Ethereum’s growth rate remaining relatively flat in recent data, it continues to attract new users. Therefore, an increase in Ethereum’s owner base could potentially delay TON’s overtaking point.
The rapid expansion of TON’s user base highlights the increasing adoption of The Open Network, an initiative initially developed by the Telegram team. According to analysts at CryptoQuant, it is only a matter of time before TON surpasses Ethereum in terms of user numbers.
