A counterfeit app that imitates a prominent decentralized cryptocurrency platform has skyrocketed in popularity on the App Store, becoming one of the most downloaded apps. The app, called “Curve DeFi v3,” poses a significant threat to unsuspecting users, despite being flagged as a scam in numerous reviews. Developed by an individual named “Tao Duong Van,” the app cleverly replicates the legitimate Curve Finance logo and functionality to deceive potential victims. This deceptive strategy has allowed the app to gain traction in different regions, including Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
Despite the overwhelming negative reviews and explicit warnings labeling it as a “scam” or “hacker,” the app is still available for download on the App Store. This raises concerns about potential financial losses among users who may mistake the fake app for the genuine Curve Finance platform. As of now, Curve Finance has not released any official statements or warnings regarding this fraudulent activity.
