### Attention Solana Investors! A Surprising Altcoin May Take the Crown from SOL!

While Solana has established itself as a leading layer-1 network in the crypto space, especially in its rivalry with Ethereum, experts now believe another altcoin might be poised to challenge its supremacy. K33 Research has pointed to Sui (SUI) as a potential contender that could rival Solana.
### Sui Network: A Serious Challenger to Solana!
Currently, Solana is recognized as one of the top alternative layer-1 networks after Ethereum. However, analysts from K33 Research have indicated that Sui might pose a significant challenge to Solana’s dominance. David Zimmerman, an analyst at K33, noted that Sui has recently outperformed Solana, with the SUI/SOL ratio soaring by 115% since August, while SOL’s performance against ETH has only seen a 6% increase in the same timeframe.
Zimmerman emphasized that Sui’s technology is capable of handling an impressive 297,000 transactions per second, which far exceeds Solana’s capacity of 65,000 transactions per second, showcasing its robust potential. He remarked, “While Solana often garners attention in layer-1 discussions, SOL/ETH has risen just 6% since early August, whereas SUI/SOL has skyrocketed by 115% during that period. With its theoretical maximum throughput of 297,000 TPS and a completion time of 480 milliseconds, Sui is a formidable player in this space.”
Despite these advancements, Zimmerman pointed out a significant challenge that could impact SUI’s long-term price trajectory. He explained that the limited circulation of Sui’s tokens could pose a risk. “Only 27% of Sui’s total token supply is currently in circulation, compared to 80% of Solana’s total supply. This discrepancy may lead to substantial selling pressure once unlocking operations commence in the future,” he cautioned.
As of the latest update, SUI has seen a 13.1% increase over the past 24 hours, trading at $1.36.
